We also love the massive, oval-shaped main door that makes entry and exit a breeze, although we wish the second door shared the same design (it’s around half the size). The tent is surprisingly fast and intuitive to set up (it took around 5 minutes with two people and can easily be done solo), and all of the components have a very hardwearing and confidence-inspiring feel. We put the Aurora through a summer of testing in the Pacific Northwest and came away thoroughly impressed. As we’ve come to expect from Nemo, the Aurora Highrise is also thoughtfully built with windows at each side that make it easy to air things out and remain protected from rain when open, two large doors and vestibules, a rainfly that can be staked out as an awning (poles sold separately), and high-quality materials throughout-including robust aluminum poles and a thick 150-denier floor that’s outfitted with a fun checkered pattern. The latest Highrise variation, however, takes aim at the premium and luxurious end of the market with a standing-height interior, steep sidewalls, and massive footprint that rival the livability of competitors like the top-rated Wawona and REI Wonderland below. New Hampshire-based Nemo introduced the Aurora collection a couple years ago, adding a competitor to crossover options like the Marmot Tungsten and Mountain Hardwear Mineral King below. What we don’t: Small second door and dome shape sacrifices some headroom along the sides. What we like: Excellent all-around performance, easy to set up, and very well built. It’s also now sold in an eight-person version ($699) for bigger families and groups in addition to the smaller four-person capacity ($400).Ī Close Second (With a Simpler Setup Process) 2. But no tent is perfect, and the Wawona’s mesh-heavy build, expansive interior, and reasonable cost earn it our top billing for 2023. Final nitpicks include the rainfly, which doesn’t cover the lower portion of the tent (this section is still waterproof), and the all-mesh door can be a source of heat loss and drafts in the cold. The upside is that the hybrid double-wall build vents considerably better than a single-wall tent like the Big Agnes Dog House (not included here), and it’s also less prone to collecting moisture in humid or rainy weather. The vestibule in particular must be guyed out tightly to stay upright, and the unique pole structure took some time to get taut and secure. That said, despite the updated pole structure, we still found the Wawona to be considerably time-consuming and tedious to set up. Added up, the Wawona is an impressively livable design and an excellent all-around value. ft.) that easily doubles as a seating area-to achieve the same versatility with the Wonderland, you’ll have to purchase the Mud Room add-on ($125) separately. And we love the massive front vestibule (44.7 sq. Offered in four- and six-person capacities, the tunnel-like design is reminiscent of REI’s Wonderland 6 below and provides a generous amount of interior space, including around 3 more square feet of floor area and an additional 2 inches of peak height than the REI-all for around $100 less. Updated fairly recently, the biggest shift was to a hybrid double-wall construction (the prior generation used a less breathable single-wall build), and they also retooled the pole structure to make setup easier. The North Face can be hit or miss in the camping market, but they have a winner in their Wawona collection. What we don’t: Time-consuming to set up, partial-coverage rainfly, and mesh door is draft-prone. What we like: Open interior and massive vestibule at a good value. For tougher weather conditions or more frequent use, it's worth spending up for better materials and interior space. For car campers who take a couple trips each year during the summer months, even the cheapest tents on this list should perform fine. Many of these behemoths offer enough room to set up cots or even chairs and a table for card games on a rainy day. Spacious, user-friendly, and feature-rich, camping tents are made for a relatively luxurious experience in the outdoors.

Shūnen no Rasuto Supāto!!) is episode 106 of the original Naruto anime. A lot of Shonen, (and I guess general anime) get caught up in shaking the camera, fancy effects and fast movement as the checkboxes that create an "epic fight" when in reality it simply dilutes any possible tension it so sorely needs. It's not always about the fanciest, fastest animation possible. As a result, the following blow and impact are felt immensely. Every wind up to an attack is given the proper pacing and set up. What's so successful about Norio's animation and the direction and storyboarding that went with it, is that there is never a moment of confusion or question as to what is happening on screen. Who has the upper hand here? Where is the weight, cause and effect of each blow? Where is my eye supposed to look. It's a flatly paced spectacle tug of war. But it all feels like flash over substance. These shots look super impressive and technically at the top of their field. See these are great examples of what I mention in the OP.ĭon't get me wrong. The pacing, choreography, sound design and mixing are all crucial elements that help elevate the "event" feeling of a climactic battle such as this, which I feel 133 checked every box.Īnd I'd just like to make clear that I'm not saying this is the best animated fight ever or even in all of anime, just in Shonen. It's great to have fancy animation, but that's only one aspect that feels like it gets all the focus usually. The sum of it's parts really put this fight heads and shoulders above the usual offerings imo. The use of the BGM is at it's best in this battle here, and the flourishes of the added flute and guitar during certain segments of intense action really complement the fighting well. When the music kicks in, it really amplifies the on screen action. The reverb feels great and really amps the scale of the events happening on screen. There are long stretches of silence where the only sound comes from the attacks and blows from the characters. This is an underrated aspect of the episode that doesn't get much mention I feel. The power struggle is palpable, creating great tension and excitement for what comes next. Naruto, brought to the edge of death, triggers the Nine-tale's chakara, nearly obliterating Sasuke, who is once again overwhelmed. He finally taps into the full potential of his sharingan, and overtakes Naruto. When Naruto attacks first, Sasuke is ovewhelmed. Each segment of action properly escalates the one preceding it, reaching a great climax by the end of the episode. They don't overstay their welcome and break up the pace of action well. The flashbacks come at just the right moment for some cooldown after a barrage of attacks. The result is a series of fancy drawings and movements that resemble chaos that flatlines instead of a well paced exchange of blows that really create a believable power struggle. Instead of highs and lows to increase the tension of a fight, the common route is to saturate the screen with non-stop action for the duration of the battle. It feels like a lot of the fights we get simply default to spectacle rather than focused direction. Okay so the animation is great, but so is a lot of key fights in a lot of animated shonen right? Well sure, but there's a lot to take into consideration. If you will be able to cope with the trials of the Dark ages, your civilization will once again reach peak in the Heroic age. In 2007 the first batch of these captive-bred rabbits was released into protected shrub-steppe habitat. In addition, Rise and Fall, the progress of civilization can lead her in the Golden age, and the errors of the ruler can end the Dark age. This is the only English discussion I can find on here. Those fans resonate with a fragile insecurity over the perceived uniqueness of the difficulty of From Software games, and the sense of achievement garnered from that perception. This may not fit with the desire for exclusivity that drives many From Software fans to push back against positive change. “In our studio's case,” Kaman and Pollock say, “it would be a bummer to see people feeling left out of experiencing what we think is a pretty neat video game.” The motivations for considering accessibility are many, but for Aggro Crab it comes from a simple place. While I respect their creative vision, I also think that considering accessibility doesn't really have any downsides.” Kaman and Pollock say that, for all the fiscal benefits of more players being able to play a game, “the decision to add these sorts of features isn't so much a cold commercial one as much as it's something you do if you really believe in it.” They add, “From Software is free to choose how they want their game to be played. But economic benefits can’t be the only thing driving accessibility considerations. This is something From Software does too, with DLC forthcoming for Elden Ring. However, sales don’t equal long-term engagement, which is increasingly important as studios try to make their games as relevant as possible for as long as possible. Elden Ring was, after all, one of the best-selling games of all time in the US. While considering accessibility likely wouldn’t dent From Software’s budget, Kaman and Pollock suggest that it might not shift the needle on sales either. Especially when we’ve seen some progress toward better accessibility from other Japanese developers in 2023. But in the early stages of a pandemic that has already disabled millions ( Japan is currently experiencing one of its worst surges) and with the oldest population in the world, despite Japan’s disregard for disability since the 2021 Paralympic Games, the visibility of disability in Japan only makes From Software’s apathy toward accessibility feel more baffling. The company did not respond to several requests for comment.)īy now, From Software’s disregard for disabled players is no surprise, nor is the ableism from its fans, which has never been addressed by the studio. (WIRED reached out to From Software to discuss accessibility and its approach to game design. But in assuming an equal ability by all players to address barriers in its games, and with an apathy toward any mitigation, From Software has allowed studios like Aggro Crab to improve upon the formula and make not just better games but better experiences. That frustration has always been a part of From Software games. In Kaman and Pollock’s opinion, “options like this don't change the core experience or the tone of the game as much as they remove points of frustration.” Instead, it highlights where difficulty-itself an accessibility option-can move from challenging to unproductive, and it inspires solutions, in both design and mitigatory features, to balance that. It may be contrary to what many From Software fans believe, but including these considerations doesn’t compromise the challenge of Souls-like games. It makes for an exciting prospect of how approachable Another Crab’s Treasure may be. “It'll be interesting to hear from more players once we launch, and if they have more ideas to make the game more accessible or approachable, we'll be listening!” Kaman and Pollock say. And Aggro Crab understands that receiving this kind of feedback extends well beyond the game's release. The ability to farm this feedback is granted by releasing accessibility information early. Fortunately, however, developers are starting to listen to players about what they need in this style of game.įor Aggro Crab, this began with the studio’s previous title, Going Under, understanding what worked there and iterating further, helped by feedback from players at events like Summer Games Fest. Player control hasn’t been forthcoming in previous Souls-like titles. But it’s also, according to Kaman and Pollock, “a great way to illustrate our commitment to letting players play the game however they want.” The ability to one-shot undersea enemies with a gun may be a bit of fun in keeping with Another Crab’s Treasure’s tone and a demonstration of how Aggro Crab is pulling away from the typically self-serious From Software. Further Reading Review: Civilization VI is a beautiful prance through history The Bose system in the 6 is decent but it's very factory and requires an extra 250 bucks for MP3. Sure it doesn't compare to many aftermarket replacement designs but it's great compared to any other factory system. Everyone will tell you that it isn't great. Another MSP plus is the stereo which is pretty damned good. Altogether it's a must have if you get the MSP. The solution is a 200 dollar CAI from Injen which not only makes the MSP run better but a decent bit faster as well. There is a delay feeling with the engine that has to do with the intake. There have been problems with the Mazdaspeed as can be seen on. There is a difference in feedback when good suspension hits a bump versus so so suspension that is just firm as hell. The Mazdaspeed is not a 6s but it feels sporty going over bumps if you know what I mean. The PR5 feels like I ran over a tree stump on the smallest holes. The suspension is very stiff but it "hits" bumps much better than the PR5. The Mazdaspeed felt more substantial than the PR5 when I first pulled it onto the street. I still like the PR5 for it is a great handling wagon that allows me to haul things a little better than a sedan. My PR5 is the worst car for bumps than any I have ever been in. I think Proteges are terrible on harsh roads with lots of potholes. The MSP is much better in ways than my PR5 and can be had cheap if you know where to go and how to negotiate. I was originally looking at the 6s which looks and feels great but is hard to get and not quite as fun as I once considered it. I have test driven the Mazdaspeed Protege(Once) the Mazda 6s Manual (5 times) and I own a 2002 PR5. So basically its a great track car, but its no 98 eclipse GSX in that your not going to be able to get 500hp out of it simply by buying a boost controller. for me its still between that and the SVT Focus. basically though it's a solid car, go for the 2003.5 as they are a little less "boy racer" inside. since this was a parts bin car, some things like the intercooler were taken off other cars, in this case a diesel mazda. you can probably see improvements with a better exhaust and a real intercooler. guys with manual boost controllers dont go above 9.5 lbs. they are stock protege internals and can't handle much more boost. 1) a lot has been done for you allready suspension wise.
